Analytics Setup

1 мин. чтения

The app allows you to track user activity using Yandex Metrica or Google Analytics counters. Ensure that data collection complies with your country’s personal data protection laws.

Integration with Yandex Metrica: You do not need to create a separate counter for the app; use the counter ID from your main website.

  1. In the WordPress plugin settings (EGodfather -> Analytics section), enter your Yandex Metrica counter number.
  2. Go to the Yandex Metrica control panel and check your counter settings:
    • The “Use old version” checkbox must be unchecked.
    • The “Ecommerce” option must be enabled.

If the settings are configured correctly, the app will start transmitting data on visits, orders, and cart contents. Metrica will automatically generate all necessary e-commerce goals after the first recorded user action.

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) Integration: You do not need to create a separate property for the app; you can use your main website’s analytics. In GA4, e-commerce tracking works “out of the box” and requires no additional configuration in the dashboard.

  1. In your WordPress plugin settings (go to EGodfather -> Analytics), enter your Measurement ID. Please note: A correct GA4 Measurement ID always starts with the G- prefix (e.g., G-ABC123XYZ).
  2. The app will automatically start sending all standardized e-commerce events (viewing the catalog, viewing item details, adding to cart, beginning checkout, and successful purchases).
  3. Sales and conversion funnel data will start appearing in your GA4 dashboard under Reports -> Monetization as soon as the first user interactions are recorded.

Recommendation: By default, Google Analytics 4 retains detailed user data for only 2 months. We highly recommend going to your GA4 dashboard (Admin -> Data collection and modification -> Data retention) and changing the event data retention period to 14 months.
